Replaced spreadsheets and a patchwork of third-party tools with a single custom ERP running sales, payroll, and field operations for 800+ reps and installers.
The Challenge
Miller Bros Sales runs a field sales-and-installation workforce that sells and installs on behalf of fiber optic providers. Reps entered every sale directly into each fiber provider's own system, which meant Miller Bros had zero real-time visibility into what their own workforce was selling - or earning.
To pay anyone, management waited on reports from each provider, sent on inconsistent schedules - weekly, biweekly, or monthly depending on the partner. Every report had to be manually reconciled in spreadsheets to figure out what each rep had earned, track commission status, and account for chargebacks. Installer pay was tracked the same way, in a separate set of sheets with its own rules.
On top of that, the company was paying $3,500/month for a third-party HR tool to onboard reps - and barely using it. The result: dozens of management hours lost every month to reconciliation, commission checks that arrived with no breakdown attached, constant disputes over pay, and a business running on spreadsheets it had outgrown.

The Solution
We built Miller Bros a custom ERP - a single system that runs sales, payroll, onboarding, and field operations end to end.
Real-time sales visibility. Reps still log sales in the fiber provider's portal as required, but also enter them into the Miller Bros system, giving management live visibility into every sale as it happens - top performers, at-risk reps, and pipeline by provider - and giving each rep a real-time view of exactly what commission they're owed.

Automated reconciliation & payroll. Reconciliation is no longer a manual spreadsheet exercise. Management uploads each provider's report and the system auto-matches it against rep-submitted sales - by order reference, validated address, and fuzzy matching - with an AI layer that resolves the harder cases and flags only the true exceptions for a human. From there, a built-in payroll engine computes each pay period: effective-dated commission rules, multi-recipient management overrides, chargebacks, and adjustments, all rolled into itemized pay statements. Periods are reviewed, locked, and paid in a controlled, auditable cycle.

Field operations & installer pay. A parallel installer portal gives technicians their own submission flow and pay structure - service rates, drop-distance rates, and per-diem day rates - with their own dashboards, management tools, and payroll, all in the same platform.
In-house onboarding & compliance. We replaced the $3,500/month HR tool with a proprietary onboarding workflow tailored to Miller Bros' exact process - document collection, e-signatures, training, and compliance checks - so reps do everything in one system instead of juggling multiple tools.

Built-in support and partner access. A categorized ticketing system handles commission disputes, onboarding, and field support without leaving the platform; automated reports go out to fiber partners on schedule; and scoped, role-based access lets installers and outside partners see only the data relevant to them, without exposing every sale across the company.
The Result
What started as a commission-tracking fix has become the operating system for Miller Bros Sales: real-time sales visibility, automated reconciliation and payroll, in-house onboarding and compliance, field-operations management, and selective data sharing with outside partners - all in one custom platform, replacing both spreadsheets and the third-party tools the company used to pay for. It's saving $25K+/month and was built to scale with the business.
