Screen Printing Website for DCL Productions
Redesigned a mobile-broken screen printing website with a multi-step project intake form that collects quote details upfront - turning unqualified traffic into actionable project inquiries.
The Challenge
DCL Productions is a screen printing and custom apparel shop serving San Francisco businesses, events, and organizations. Their website had a critical problem: it was completely broken on mobile.
Text overlapped, images didn't scale, the contact form was unusable on a phone. For a local business where most customers find them on mobile - searching for "screen printing near me" or following an Instagram link - the site was losing inquiries before they even had a chance to submit.
Beyond the mobile issue, the contact flow was unstructured. Customers would send a one-line email saying they wanted t-shirts, and the shop would have to follow up to get the basics: quantity, garment type, design details, deadline. Every inquiry started with back-and-forth before a quote could even be drafted.
The Solution
We rebuilt the site mobile-first and restructured the inquiry flow to collect project details upfront.
Mobile-first redesign. Every page was designed and tested on mobile first, then scaled up for desktop. The site now works the way customers actually use it - browsing on a phone, comparing options, and submitting a project inquiry without the layout falling apart.
Multi-step project intake form. Instead of a basic contact form, we built a guided intake flow that walks customers through what the shop needs to quote their project: garment type (t-shirts, hoodies, hats, etc.), quantity, number of print colors, design requirements, and deadline. Each question narrows the scope, so by the time the form submits, the shop has everything they need to respond with an actual quote.
Visual portfolio. The old site had a handful of product photos buried on an inner page. We built out a proper portfolio showcasing past projects - event shirts, corporate apparel, local collaborations - so prospective clients could see the quality and range of work before reaching out.
Clear service breakdown. We added dedicated pages for the shop's core offerings - screen printing, embroidery, custom design - with pricing guidance and turnaround expectations spelled out. No guessing, no friction.
Local SEO foundation. The site was optimized for local search with San Francisco targeting, Google My Business integration, and an FAQ section covering the questions prospects actually ask: minimum order quantities, turnaround times, rush orders, and file requirements.
The Result
Within the first month after launch, the site generated 30+ project inquiries - qualified leads with garment details, quantities, and timelines already submitted. The shop went from chasing down basic information on every inquiry to receiving quote-ready requests they could respond to immediately.
The mobile experience now converts instead of bounces, and the intake form does the work that used to happen over three or four emails.
